Waterman International Raceway, LLC (WIR) is an indoor motocross facility entering our fifth season. Our formula of providing a safe yet challenging track for dirt bike riders to practice and race on is a proven winner. WIR is not a typical arenacross style track. The jumps at WIR are all safe tabletops and our unique track design requires about 1 minute to complete a lap.
We have expanded our hours and reworked the track for the 2007/2008 season. We will be open during the day on weekdays and on non-race Saturdays until 9:00 p.m. The added time should spread out our customers allowing everyone more track time. Select Saturday evenings will again be used for our 12 race Championship Series. We have added 3 new classes to our race nights. A +30 Class for our older riders, a Vintage Class for bikes built in 1989 and earlier, and a Money Class with a guaranteed payout will all join our racing action. We will again use an Arenacross format for the races and overall awards will be given to the top 5 in each class. Along with open practice sessions you can also get a private riding lesson, take an MX School, or rent the track for you and a few of your friends. WIR is a project that owners Dave Antolak and Ron Downen have worked
on for over two years. Antolak and Downen, who have over 60 years
of motocross racing experience between them, have put together a
riding arena that is safe, fun and demanding. The local professional
arenacross riders practice here and report the demands of the track
help prepare them for battle on the national circuit. The track,
25’ to 30’ wide at all points, has many sections that offer
inside and outside options. The bigger jumps are all tabletops and
only the smaller jumps are doubles. Having tabletops instead of
big doubles allows the novice and intermediate riders to safely
enjoy riding the track. Now Midwestern racers can ride year-round
and stay in shape!
All riders under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian with
them at sign-up in order to ride or race at WIR. A parent or legal
guardian must remain on the premises at all times. A notarized Guardian
Transfer form must filled out each time a minor is accompanied by
someone other than a parent or legal guardian.
